MASS Monster account and data deletion

Last updated: August 17, 2026

This page explains how to delete a MASS Monster mobile-app account, how to request deletion without reinstalling the app, what the deletion process removes, and the limited records that may be retained.

Delete your account in the MASS Monster app

  1. Open MASS Monster and sign in.
  2. Open Profile, then Settings.
  3. Select Profile & account.
  4. Under Danger zone, select Delete Account.
  5. Reauthenticate with the sign-in method linked to the account.
  6. Type DELETE, acknowledge the store-billing notice when it applies, and submit the request.

The request is recorded immediately. MASS Monster signs the account out, blocks further account and community use, and starts server-side deletion. If a processing step fails, an automated worker checks eligible deletion requests every 15 minutes and retries them with bounded backoff until the deletion succeeds.

Request deletion without the app

You do not need to install or reinstall MASS Monster. Email support@massmonster.life with the subject MASS Monster account deletion request. If possible, send the request from the email address on the MASS Monster account and state whether you want the entire account deleted or only specific app data deleted. We may ask you to verify control of the account before acting.

Do not send your password, one-time verification codes, payment-card information, government ID, or other unnecessary sensitive information.

Request deletion of specific data

You can remove supported items directly in the app, including individual Nutrition and bodyweight entries, saved gym data, stories, and other content where a delete control is available. To request deletion of other specific MASS Monster app data without deleting the account, email support@massmonster.life, identify the account, and describe the categories or date range to remove.

Data deleted with the account

After the deletion workflow completes, MASS Monster deletes the Firebase Authentication account and the account's private MASS Monster user-document tree. This includes private profile and preference data, workout plans and training history, saved gym and Accountability records, Nutrition and bodyweight records, targets, meal-planning data, reminders, coaching-access records, and related private subcollections.

The workflow also deletes MASS Monster-hosted profile images, retained story media and story exports, Nutrition AI source media and Nutrition PDF exports, authored chat and direct-message content and media, reply snapshots that identify the deleted content, related coach and Crew records, and user-addressed notifications. Issued subscription-reward discount codes are deactivated when applicable.

Limited data that may be kept

  • Deletion tombstone: MASS Monster keeps a minimal “Deleted User” record containing the Firebase user ID, deletion timestamp, and deletion source. It does not keep the deleted name, email address, profile image, biography, social links, location, or other profile content. The current system has no fixed expiry for this technical tombstone because it prevents deleted data from being restored or treated as an active account.
  • Deletion processing record: MASS Monster keeps the account-deletion request and status record, including the user ID, request and processing timestamps, reauthentication method, retry state, and cleanup status. It contains no password or user-created content. The current system has no fixed expiry because the record documents completion and supports reliable retry and audit of the deletion.
  • Safety, moderation, and legal records: Reports, moderation actions, system audit records, fraud-prevention records, and records needed for disputes or legal compliance may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes. Authored community content is removed; system moderation messages may be reattributed to “system,” and reply snapshots are scrubbed.
  • Nutrition analytics: Content-free Nutrition analytics events use a secret-derived pseudonymous actor key and expire after 90 days. They do not contain food names, calories, macros, weights, coach identifiers, photos, or transcripts. Aggregate daily metrics that do not contain a reversible user ID may remain.
  • AI provider safety retention: MASS Monster deletes temporary meal images and audio from its own storage after processing. OpenAI may retain earlier AI request content for safety and abuse monitoring for up to 30 days under its standard API controls, with limited safety-review exceptions described in the MASS Monster Privacy Policy.
  • Purchases and transactions: Deleting the MASS Monster app account does not cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription and does not erase records that Apple, Google, RevenueCat, Shopify, payment processors, or MASS Monster must retain for billing, tax, fraud prevention, disputes, or legal compliance. Those records follow the applicable provider policy and legally required retention period.

Cancel store billing separately

Deleting a MASS Monster account does not cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel the subscription in the store account that made the purchase. A membership remains tied to the original MASS Monster account and may not be restorable to a newly created account.
